Dr Antony Moonjelly

Dr Antony Moonjelly is a Fellow of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, with advanced training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. He has a special interest in working with young people and families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

Dr Moonjelly completed his medical degree in 2009 at the prestigious All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), a tertiary centre of excellence in India. Following this, he gained research experience in the United States at Purdue University’s Behavioural Neurosciences Research Centre. After migrating to Australia, he undertook further research at the Brain and Mind Research Institute (University of Sydney) and completed a Master of Medicine (Psychiatry).

He trained in psychiatry through the Northern Sydney Hospital Network and has worked across a wide range of public hospitals including Royal North Shore, Hornsby, Northern Beaches, Cumberland, Blacktown, and Broken Hill. These experiences have given him extensive expertise across both metropolitan and rural settings.

Dr Moonjelly has worked in both public and private sectors, treating conditions such as anxiety, depression, and ADHD across all age groups. His particular areas of interest include attachment disorders, ADHD, anxiety disorders, and cultural psychiatry. He believes human connection is central to mental health, and values hearing the full story of each patient before using the tools of modern medicine.

He provides comprehensive assessments and develops tailored treatment plans to support the best possible outcomes. Dr Moonjelly currently works with the Child and Youth Mental Health Team at Hornsby Hospital, alongside his private practice.
