He has over 20 years of experience in treatment of mental health conditions both in the UK and Australia.
Clinical Director & Senior Psychiatrist at Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital and Northern Beaches Community Mental Health Services.

Special interests are in the treatment of resistant depression, ADHD, anxiety disorders and neurodiversity.
Additionally, he has experience in treating patients with wide range of conditions including ADHD, Psychosis, Drug and Alcohol Problems and Personality Disorders.
Furthermore, he holds a keen interest in neurobiology, neuroplasticity and psycho-pharmacology.

Dr Jayalath employs a unique way of combining evidence-based biological and psychological treatments to develop effective and individualised treatment plans. He has won four clinical excellence awards in the UK and was a finalist for the national award for development of innovative clinical services in the UK in 2011. He has also played a key role in implementing public service Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) programs and PACER (Police, Ambulance, Clinical, Early Response service) in NSW.

Aside from clinical work, he has experience in teaching medical students and trainee psychiatrists at Cambridge University, Australian National University, University of Western Sydney and University of Sydney.
